Stable Gastric Pentadecapeptide BPC 157 and Wound Healing (Seiwerth S et al., 2021)
BPC-157 ("Body Protection Compound") is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a partial sequence of a protein found in human gastric juice. It is stable in gastric acid, which has made it of interest as an oral research compound.
It has been studied extensively in preclinical (mostly rodent) models for effects on tendon-to-bone healing, ligament repair, gastrointestinal mucosal protection, ulcer healing, and modulation of the nitric oxide system.
Most published work originates from a single research group (Sikiric et al.) and the compound has not undergone large-scale human clinical trials.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption.
