Cagrilintide: A Long-Acting Amylin Analog for the Treatment of Obesity (D'Ascanio AM et al., 2024)
Cagrilintide is a synthetic long-acting analog of amylin (a peptide co-secreted with insulin from pancreatic β-cells). Modifications to the native amylin sequence improve solubility and pharmacokinetic stability for weekly dosing.
It has been studied in clinical research as a monotherapy and, in combination with semaglutide ("CagriSema"), for body weight reduction in adults with overweight or obesity. The combination is being investigated in late-stage trials.
It is used as a reference long-acting amylin analog in metabolic research.
For research purposes only. Not for human consumption.
